We wanted to build a platform where talent is discovered, where competition thrives and where relationships both personal and professional are strengthened.

Distinguished guests, fellow golfers, Ladies and gentlemen, good morning.

The NCBA Golf Series was born out of a desire to do more than just sponsor golf tournaments. We wanted to build a platform where talent is discovered, where competition thrives and where relationships both personal and professional are strengthened. Since its inception in 2021, this Series has grown into one of East Africa’s most anticipated sporting circuits, and Uganda has played a critical role in shaping that success.

This Year, We are Raising the Bar.

The 2025 Series will be an immersive experience for players and spectators alike. From the thrill of the hole-in-one challenge, where one lucky golfer could drive off in a brand-new Nissan Qashqai, to the sports quiz challenge, we have just had, moderated by Mark Namanya and Mark Ssali, we have designed it to entertain, inform and inspire. We are also delighted to showcase our continued commitment to digital innovation. All transactions at this year’s tournament are powered by our seamless, secure and cashless platform; Muzuri Pay. Be it registering to play, buying a drink or picking up some merchandise, your experience will be efficient and effortless. And yes, for those who enjoy the 19th hole, your beer is going for just Shs1, 000 via Muzuri Pay. Cheers to that!

But beyond the excitement and festivities, the heart of the NCBA Golf Series remains in talent development. At NCBA, we believe in investing in the future of this sport. Last year, Uganda sent an outstanding delegation of 18 golfers to the Grand Finale in Nairobi, and we expect no less this year. This Series will visit three courses, which include this beautiful par-72 here in Kitante, the Jinja Golf Club, and the Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa. The Best Overall Winner, determined by the highest points tally of the day, from each leg of the NCBA Golf Series will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Nairobi, covering travel, accommodation, and meals, to participate in the prestigious Grand Finale and compete for the ultimate prize.

In addition, seven outstanding players from each qualifying tournament will also earn a place in the NCBA Golf Series 2025 Grand Finale. These include the Overall Men’s Winner, Overall Ladies’ Winner, Division 1 Men’s and Ladies’ Winners, Division 2 Overall Winner and the Junior Winner, ensuring a diverse and competitive field representing various categories of talent.

In closing, allow me to thank our partners, especially Motorcare Uganda, for their generous hole-in-one prize, Uganda Golf Union and all golf clubs involved in making this series a success. To the players, GO FOR IT by playing your hearts out. To the spectators, soak in the experience. To our NCBA team, thank you for turning vision into reality.

Let us continue to shape the future of golf in Uganda and across East Africa together.

Thank you and let the games begin.
