All-wheel steering, adaptive hydraulic dampers, and an adjustable air spring suspension system are on board to help the SV handle like a sports sedan.

The Land Rover is a brand known for off-road capability, but the 2025 Range Rover Sport SV adds on-road performance to that winning equation. A twin-turbocharged V-8 rumbles under the hood and pumps out 626 horsepower. This thoroughbred is about more than just straight-line speed. All-wheel steering, adaptive hydraulic dampers, and an adjustable air spring suspension system are on board to help the SV handle like a sports sedan. Posh environs await you inside, too, with high-quality materials lining every square inch of the SV’s cabin.
The front seats are supremely comfortable and supportive, and tech lovers will appreciate the standard 13.1-inch curved infotainment display and competitive connectivity features. While its peers—including the Audi RS Q8 and the BMW X5 M—cost less to start, the Range Rover Sport SV’s nearly fully loaded base trim includes features that are optional on those competitors and beats them in the horsepower race.

Under the bonnet lays a righteous 626-hp twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V-8 engine with 553 pound-feet of torque mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Depending on the drive mode, the SV can sit nearly an inch lower than other Range Rover Sports as part of its new 6D Dynamic suspension system.
There are optional 23-inch carbon fiber wheels (said to save 20 pounds per corner), which are wrapped with wide 305s on the rear wheels and 285s up front. To stop all the meat is a set of optional Brembo carbon ceramic brake discs that measure 17.3 inches up front and 15.3 inches in the rear. The front calipers with that option are eight-piston clampers for a reason—the SV has a lot of real estate to slow down in a hurry. The performance is truly spectacular, and despite the Range Rover Sport SV’s tall height and weighty mass, body roll is well-controlled. On the road, it’s best left in the Comfort drive mode, and even then, harsh bumps upset the cabin, especially on the big 23-inch wheels.
The EPA estimates the high-power Range Rover SV is good for 16 mpg city and 22 mpg on the highway. That’s slightly better than the previous Range Rover Sport SVR’s 15 mpg city and 20 mpg highway. We’ll update this space when we have the opportunity to test the Range Rover SV on our 75-mph highway fuel economy test. Land Rover doesn’t let going fast get in the way of being fancy with the Range Rover SV’s performance-minded cockpit. It comes standard with exquisite materials, illuminated headrests, and Land Rover’s newest infotainment screen and software. The front bucket seats are bolstered and incorporate two speakers each as part of its 29-speaker 1430-watt surround sound system.
Despite its dramatic level of performance, the SV keeps a cool head with heated- and ventilated front seats and heated rear seats. A heated steering wheel is also standard. There is a bevy of carbon fiber trim elements, and, not to be outdone by anyone, Land Rover has made the SV’s paddle shifters edge-lit.
Stuck to the Land Rover Range Rover Sport SV’s dashboard is a 13.1-inch infotainment touchscreen that’s completely knob-less. Just like its enormous all-digital gauge cluster, the infotainment screen holds the SV’s most important info. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are both standard, as is an in-dash navigation system.

A host of driver-assistance features are standard, including automated emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and a 360-degree exterior camera system. An adaptive cruise control system is also included. For more information about the Range Rover Sport SV’s crash-test results, visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) websites. Key safety features include Standard automated emergency braking, Standard lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist and Standard adaptive cruise control
The Range Rover Sport SV’s warranty coverage is about what you’d expect for its class, but complimentary scheduled maintenance is a non-starter. The purchase price of several competitors, however, includes three years or 36,000 miles of complimentary scheduled maintenance.
The price of the 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport SV is expected to start around $180,000 and go up to $200,000 depending on the trim and options.
